It’s Thursday, I had to look at the calendar to be sure. Yesterday we learned how to make charcoal. What a treat. We got to cut the wood and haul it to the oven, the farmer stacked it in and showed us how to light the bottom. The idea is to catch all the wood on fire and then close off the oxygen supply. Let it smolder for a few days, then wait a few more days so it will cool, and voila! The advantages of charcoal, is it is lighter to carry, it doesn’t rot or get eaten by termites and you can regulate the heat more, plus it burns hotter and cleaner (less smoke).
I got my first “sick”, the night before last. I woke up in the middle of the night with a miserable pain in my eye. What else, I took out my contacts, but couldn’t get back to sleep and couldn’t find any aspirin. So, I meditated: I decided it was a cold and sent every white cell to war. The next day it was no big deal. My eye was a little red, but it didn’t hurt, so I will be wearing my glasses for a little while, just in case.
I have decided that Jeff is the perfect guys guy. He is good looking, easy going, fun and very likeable. I have always felt bad for my mom’s generation and now I am hanging out with girls 8-10 years younger and they look at me that way. Their generation seems a little more “unisex”, like mine wanted to be, and Mom’s never could be.
